Relaxing

As someone who loves Delhi, I realise the city can become suffocating. The TRAFFIC, the smog, the people, the unpredictable weather, they can creep up on even the most loyal Delhite and threaten to strangle the life out of you.

We were so ready to get out the hell out! But one thing or the other, work, the baby, something kept us from leaving. Finally, after about a month of trying to get away, we have finally come up to the mountains! Technically speaking, we are still in the foothills but for how we feel, we could be on Mars!

After leading a hectic lifestyle, to get away just to relax is nothing short of paradise. We have a wonderful host with an amazing home, and lucky for us, the weather has been blissful!

Currently, I am on the veranda, penning down my thoughts and although I can hear the light traffic (It is India, after all!), I can actually see butterflies fluttering around, hear the chirping of the birds, smell the freshly cut grass and feel the cool spring breeze upon my cheeks. This is TRULY a much needed break.

And I also wonder, can any amount of money, truly give you peace of mind. Peace of mind is just that - a state of mind. To achieve peace of mind, one needs to learn to decompress, let go and breathe. Most people say this is near impossible with the day to day stress which is inevitable. However, to make a concious decision to step back, just to appreciate the small pleasures of life and to be thankful for all that one has, is a MUST.

Opponents to this theory may say it sounds more philosophical than practical but its all up to the individual to make it a reality. Like I mentioned before , it has nothing to do with money. One can take a 2 day break by switching off your phone, not checking the news or your facebook page and JUST take a breather!

A Long Deep Breath to feel refreshed and rejuvenated to face the day to day again!
